I am not usually overtly spiritual on my blog because I respect the diversity of beliefs and backgrounds of those who may stop by to read it. I began this blog to share and learn ways to be successful in publishing despite the odds. In maintaining this goal, I like to share encouragement and tools that help me. And today, I am facing an uphill climb of completing a massive edit in a short period of time and I thought, “I bet there are others out there who may be struggling with projects of their own. Maybe as I pray, I can share my prayers and maybe they will help them too.”

I pray and speak positive things over myself as I work…

1. Believing that God is on my side

2. Believing that He wouldn’t have given me the assignment if He Himself didn’t have faith in me

3. Believing that He has given me what I need to do the job well

4. Believing that He has a special reason for my being where I am at this particular time

I do this because I believe He wants me to tap into His infinite and divine resources to accomplish what is given to me. He said that He is with me and won't leave me (Matthew 28:20; Hebrews 13:5). I think that His being "with me" shows His love, support, and awareness of where I am and what I need. I apply this understanding to everything, especially my work. So I will share with you what works for me. I pray it encourages you and makes you perform better, create more, influence wider, and prosper greatly.

If you are a writer, these prayers are for you. If you are an editor, these prayers are for you. Faith is the key to having what you pray, speak, and declare (Mark 11:24). Ready? Let's pray!

I am creative and was made for this moment (Esther 4:14).
I declare that as I am made in the image of God, I too have the ability to create something out of nothing (Genesis 1:26; Romans 4:17). I declare that I will not fear the blank page. I will envision it full of inspiring and impactful words that will reach into the hearts of my readers (2 Timothy 1:7).
I declare that I am focused and sharp (Isaiah 26:3; 2 Timothy 1:7; Philippians 2:5).
My concentration is impenetrable.
I speak to all forces that seek to come against my creative thought processes to be still and dismissed from the atmosphere in the name of Jesus (Mark 5:39-41).
No spoken words, thoughts, curses, or dream stealers (including my own) that have sought to destroy my gift will prosper in the name of Jesus (Isaiah 54:17).
I have confidence in my God-given gifts as a writer and editor.
I am inspired by God.
Lord, grant me the supernatural ability in your Holy Spirit to hear what the Spirit is saying regarding the thing you would have me write or edit (Revelation 3:22).
Lord, I pray that as I write, these words will not come by the pure force of my will but that they flow out from Your Spirit (2 Peter 1:21).
Grant me divine assurance to know when what I have written or edited is complete and pleasing to You (John 19:30).
God has given me every resource to do this work well. I declare that I will be a good steward of those resources and see the fruit of my labor prosper (Hebrews 13:21; 2 Timothy 3:17; Matthew 25:14-30; Psalm 90:17). I release all anxiety and hypervigilence to “make this work,” for it is not by my might or by my power that this work will reach its full potential, but it is by Your Spirit that this will be everything You are designing it to be (Zechariah 4:6).
