Literary Services
Using my twenty years in the publishing industry as an editor, writer, and now literary agent for Embolden Literary, I support well-established authors and help them find their place in the market. Offering publishing career guidance, I serve as a literary agent who will work toward securing the best and most profitable deals for my authors. Capturing and honing that “it” book concept, assisting with the development of an outstanding book proposal, presenting and placing my authors with the right publishers, negotiating contracts, and liaising between the author and their publisher for the life of the relationship are how I serve my authors best.

COACHING + CRITIQUE
COACHING + CRITIQUE
Are you working on a book proposal or writing your first or 100th draft of a book you desire to see published? Are you feeling unsure of what it needs to be taken seriously by agents or editors or even your readers? Are you overwhelmed with information overload about the dos and don’ts of it all. Let me help.
With more than 20 years' experience in book publishing as an acquisitions editor, collaborative writer, and literary agent, I will give you objective and professional feedback on your project. Get editorial comments on the content you submit, suggestions for organization, and focused feedback addressing questions you may have such as:
What trends or felt needs should my writing address/reflect?
Are my ideas any good?
What are the strengths and weaknesses of how I'm sharing my message?
Am I on the right track?
What do I need to fix?
What is my authentic voice and how can I write true to it?
How do I tell my story without being sued or hurting those I love?
How can I build my platform so my voice is heard?
Who is my audience, and what do they need to hear from me?
Should I publish this on my own or should I try to get an agent to secure a traditional publishing deal?
My goal is to help you get the answers to these questions and more so you can have confidence and clarity about the next step in your writing and publishing journey.

And now you can't shake the gnawing feeling that you've got to get this thing captured in a book. The unique way you look a critical moment or movement in our shared human story is at the tip of your pen, but you are feeling a bit stuck on how to tease it out. Because…
You like to maximize your time, energy, and efficiency…
You like to get things right the first time…
You know the value of what you have is only increased by what you invest…
I've worked with hundreds of leaders and creators like you helping them shape their next big book idea. Brainstorming together, we sought answers to deep and abiding questions that helped lead them to their next big book idea.
A big book is a book concept that is easy to understand, highly relevant and relatable; urgent, pressing, and demanding in its appeal; and is novel, transformational, paradigm-shifting in significant ways to a wide readership. Hence, it has outstanding sales potential and is predicted to make a lasting mark on culture or society.
Within hours—not weeks, months, or years—of focused work, we were able to nail down answers to strategic questions and develop a fully fleshed-out book concept, a writing plan, and publishing strategy that landed them 6-figure deals with Big 5 publishers and placement on national best-seller lists, selling hundreds of thousands of copies.
The serious and motivated leader, creator, or influencer who is…
a founder, executive, academic, or leader in their business, field, industry, or organization
a subject matter expert who is fairly established or known in their niche and area of expertise
both having a developing, energetic following through speaking, social media, email list, subscribers, and the like
This veteran, aspiring, or debut author anticipates writing in one the following categories:
Self-help/advice/relationship
Personal development, self-mastery, success
Christian living/spiritual growth
Race, ethnicity, and social justice
Health and wellness
Business/leadership

We’ll come together for your VIP Day - your private and exclusive 1-on-1, 6-hour writing coaching intensive will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. ET. With 60 minutes of break time dispersed as needed, we'll have all the time we need to craft your big book idea
Finally, we'll track your progress and address any concerns that arise after our VIP day during your Post-VIP Day Check In - a 60-minute coaching call that you schedule at your discretion 1-2 weeks after our VIP Day writing coaching intensive.
I come to you - The base cost for our day together remains the same. You will just cover the cost of travel and accommodations for my assistant and me.
You come to me - Book a day or two at a favorite hotel in sunny Central Florida. My assistant and I will drive over to you. We'll proceed to a mutually comfortable spot, and we'll get to work.
We meet virtually - In-person is my preferred. Nothing beats the energy of collaborating and brainstorming together in the same space. Nothing. Fewer distractions. Higher productivity. But we do have Zoom, and I'm happy to accommodate you if a virtual VIP Day is what you prefer.
Spend the next several months spinning your wheels on one iffy idea after another?
Or, maximize your time, energy, and efficiency by booking a VIP day with me?

Here are some kind words from authors...
Jevon has worked with some of the most talented and passionate authors and artists. Here's what some of them had to say about working with her through the writing and editorial process.
Jevon is an excellent editor. She is both enjoyable and encouraging to work with and very professional as well. Her edits and creative additions are something I highly value for my manuscripts. I've worked with her for more than five years. She is one of the best editors I've had in my twenty plus career as a writer.
Cherie Calbom is a leading authority on juicing for health and detoxification. Known as The Juice Lady, TV chef, and celebrity nutritionist, she has helped in pioneering the fresh juice movement around the world.
Jevon is a fabulous editor with the experience and 'know-how' to format a book from front to back. She worked on my upcoming health book Fat Free For Life: 13 Principles for Guaranteed Weight Loss and Ultimate Health with Charisma House Publishing. She works well with authors and pulls the very best out of the project to make their work shine. Highly recommend her to anyone needing to find a person with an amazing editorial eye.
Jevon Bolden is awesome! She is a wonderful editor who really seeks to learn the author's voice and does a masterful job of maintaining it throughout the book edit. Jevon edited my brand new book entitled, Caught Between a Dream and a Job, How to Leave the 9 to 5 Behind, and Step Into the Life You've Always Wanted. She made me feel extremely comfortable with the entire process, provided excellent recommendations and changes, and helped me take my work to the next level. She is extremely professional and personable as well, which is very refreshing. I love her dearly and highly recommend her for your next success project.
Delatorro McNeal, II, CEO/President, Delatorro Worldwide Empowerment, and author of Caught Between a Dream and Job
Jevon Bolden is talented, thorough, and inspiring. I was thrilled to have Jevon as the developmental editor for Career Moves. She did a fabulous job! Jevon is proactive and insightful. She manages deadlines and objectives with such grace. Thank you Jevon for investing yourself so beautifully in the success of others!
Dondi Scumaci, President, Dondi Scumaci, Inc., author of Career Moves, Ready, Set... Grow, and Designed for Success
Jevon Bolden's sensitivity to the intent of an artist, creative ear for poetic clarity, and her natural ability to provide compelling prose, brings out the very best for any artist who is looking to be heard.
Billy Wright, singer/songwriter
Jevon's spirit of excellence is very refreshing. She's efficient, effective, and able to accurately capture the essence of a writer's message and mantle and then clearly convey that to others with clarity and power.
Her work on my project was impeccable. She's definitely top of the line and I would most definitely seek to acquire her services and skill set again.
Jevon and I have worked together for several years now. One of the most amazing things about her is her ability to connect with the author, and not just the manuscript. I’m convinced this is how she brings out the best in every writer she works with. I find her to be professional, efficient and capable. And since writing is not my “day job,” I needed someone like Jevon, who is attentive and respectful of both my time as well as my other obligations.
Dr. Kara Davis, Doctor of Internal Medicine, and author of Spiritual Secrets to Weight Loss, Spiritual Secrets to a Healthy Heart, and Timeless
Jevon was the editor for my book Viral Jesus. She was easy to work with and very quick to respond to my questions. Her answers were always helpful. Many writers fear that an editor will change their message or take over their voice. This was clearly not the case with Jevon. She just made my book better. I highly recommend her.
Ross Rohde, Simple Church Planting Coach, thejesusvirus.org, and author of Viral Jesus
I moonlight as an author; by day I’m a mild-mannered editor. And as such, I know that an editor faces a great challenge when making changes to a manuscript while trying to keep the author’s voice and intended meaning. Jevon is masterful at this. She sees the big picture and the tiny details, and truly makes the work better from start to finish. I consider her an editorial ninja--she cuts, chops, slices, and adds but once she's done, no one ever knows she was there.
Darren Schalk, Coordinator of Christian Education and Curriculum Development, Church of God of Prophecy; Associate Editor, One Accord Resources, Inc.; author, Stuff I Hate About God
